There is a well known marketing tactic called the Pareto Principle. It is a way of looking at your marketing and sales efforts in a style where you are able to eliminate the not so effective easily. It is also known as the 80/20 rule and basically means on average:
-80% of your marketing efforts will count for 20% sales
-20% of your marketing efforts will count for 80% sales
This gives you the opportunity to cut out that 80% that isn’t as effective.

Within the field of Graphic Design, Coherence or design unity is always best practice. When you find a coherent object or product, even a coherent person it is easy to recognize later on through the use of branding and design. When you have the right picture with the right text and both of them are connected with the message the brand is reliable and recognizable. Link these two elements is the key to create a strong visual identity through graphic design.
To be coherent you should think about why you do whatever you do within your brand or design. Why you created your business rather than another one. According to a recent study roughly 70% of businesses have a website, that’s a massive number of websites on the World Wide Web but as you can imagine not all of them are popular. This has nothing to do with the products the company sells or services they offer. Many popular and useful companies have a website that doesn’t get marketed properly, these websites just gets lost alongside 95% of all websites online.
So why are only about 5% of the websites online working and successful?

Don’t try and target everybody as it will never work, there are just too many people out there. It is a common misconception that essentials like food and drink campaigns can be targeted to everybody but even with food and drink, you have to segment your market. You have to take into account Vegetarians, Vegans, Children, Adults, Special Occasions, Gender, Alcohol etc.
So take note of your biggest customer base and market to them. Main segment categories are age, gender and location. This means you aren’t wasting marketing efforts on people who will never ever buy from you.
